Professional Licensure Disclosures

For programs leading to a professional license or certification as required by 34 CFR §668.14 and §668.43, and in compliance with SARA Policy as required by SARA Policy Manual Section 5.2.

This disclosure shares Clarkson University’s determination of whether the programs below, if successfully completed, would meet the requirements for licensure in states other than New York State.

Engineering

To be licensed as a Professional Engineer, all states require documentation of education or equivalent and accept a degree from an ABET accredited engineering program, in addition to passing exams and/or demonstrating sufficient work experience. Clarkson’s engineering programs are accredited by ABET and eligible for pursuit of certification or licensure in each state.

Upon completing Clarkson’s engineering program, individuals will meet the educational requirements for seeking licensure in the following fifty states: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming. 

Health Sciences

Physical Therapy

The program has determined that its curriculum meets state educational requirements for licensure or certification in all states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, secondary to its accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education. 

Upon completing Clarkson’s Physical Therapy program, individuals will meet the educational requirements for seeking licensure in the following fifty states: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming. 

Physician Assistant

The program has determined that its curriculum meets state educational requirements for licensure or certification in all states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, secondary to its accreditation by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA).

Upon completing Clarkson’s Physical Assistant program, individuals will meet the educational requirements for seeking licensure in the following fifty states: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming. 

Occupational Therapy

The program has determined that its curriculum meets state educational requirements for licensure or certification in all states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, secondary to its accreditation by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) of the American Occupational Therapy Association.
