Biography
Natasha Banerjee is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Clarkson University in Potsdam, New York. She received her Ph.D. in 2015 from the Robotics Institute at Carnegie Mellon University. Her research lies at the intersection of computer graphics and computer vision, and focuses on understanding spatiotemporal characteristics of objects in three dimensions using large-scale multi-modal multi-viewpoint data. She is co-founder and co-director of the Terascale All-Sensing Research Studio (TARS) at Clarkson. Her work received Popular Science magazine's Best of What's New Award in 2014, was a Finalist for the World Technology Award in 2015, and has been covered extensively by several media outlets such as the New York Times, Inside Science TV, Gizmodo, TechCrunch, Clarkson News, and North Country Now. Her research is supported by multiple grants from agencies such as NSF and NIST.
