Biography

Marshall Issen MSIB, PE is originally a native of Chicago, Illinois. He received his Bachelor of Science (Cum Laude) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois in 1983 and his Master of Science (Cum Laude) in International Business in 1997 from Roosevelt University. While in college, Marshall participated in the Cooperative Engineering Program and worked as a Co-Op Engineer for the Chicago Transit Authority and Motorola. He worked as a project engineer, senior engineer, engineering manager, project manager, marketing manager and sales manager for Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL) in a career that lasted nearly 20 years.

Marshall came to the North County in 2000. After wrapping up his UL career and after a short stint at Clarkson as their Technology Transfer Officer, he entered the world of teaching in 2003, an Adjunct Instructor in Economics & Accounting at SUNY Canton. Since then has taught several courses at SUNY Canton, and Clarkson University. In June 2010, he was hired full-time as a faculty member of Clarkson’s School of Business and the Engineering & Management Program. In addition to teaching Project Management at both the undergraduate and graduate level, he has been involved in Clarkson’s Honors Program, teaching/managing the Sophomore Honors Project Class as well as several Senior E & M Capstone project classes each year.

Marshall enjoys the outdoors and is into hunting, camping and hiking along with a variety of winter sports. In the summer you’ll find him in “deep water” as an avid certified Advanced SCUBA Diver. One of his passions is helping others, so you will also find him in the community as a crisis hotline volunteer at Reachout of St. Lawrence County.
