Clarkson University Presents Woodstock Award to Five Alumni

Alicia Geraghty ‘15, Jared Heinl ‘05, Jennifer Karekos '14 '15, Nicholas Radley ‘05, and Nico Sturm ‘20 have received the Woodstock Award from their alma mater, Clarkson University.

Presented each year during Reunion Weekend, the Woodstock Award honors young alumni who have demonstrated outstanding loyalty and service to Clarkson and the Alumni Association and who have used their Clarkson experience to make a notable contribution to their careers.

Geraghty started her Clarkson journey as a member of The Clarkson School. She received her Bachelor of Science in Global Supply Chain Management from Clarkson University. She is currently Vice President, Business Execution Manager at Wells Fargo and is active in her community, participating as a Style Consultant and most recently joining the Ultimate Power Lunch committee for Dress for Success Charlotte. Additionally, she volunteers as an essay reader for multiple organizations to support scholar programs.

Geraghty has served as a first-year student mentor, guest lecturer, alumni advisor for Delta Zeta, and President’s Challenge adjudicator. She is also a Loyal and Legion member in Clarkson’s Good Knights Guild.

She resides in Charlotte, North Carolina, with her husband, Daniel Geraghty ’15; whom she met at Clarkson, and their two year old son.

Heinl received his Bachelor of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Clarkson University, and in 2024 was promoted to Principal of the Firm at Beardsley Architects + Engineers where he is primarily responsible for overall project development and delivery of services. Heinl serves as the Secretary of the Central New York Chapter of the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) and is a 2017 graduate of the ACEC NY Leadership Training Institute.

Heinl has been a regular recruiter at Clarkson’s Career fairs regularly since graduating and also served as an Adjunct Instructor for various courses in Civil Engineering and Construction Engineering Management.

Heinl currently resides in Marcellus, NY along with his wife and fellow CU Alum, Abbie (Peer) Heinl, (CEE ‘05) and their children Mara (12) and Bennett (10).

Karekos graduated with her Bachelors in Biomolecular Science in 2014 and Masters in Business Administration (MBA) in 2015, both from Clarkson University. She is currently a Commercial Operations Manager, Business Development for the biologics unit within Recipharm, ReciBioPharm.

Since 2015, Jennifer and her family (mother, Emily Karekos, father, Peter Karekos ’80, ’81, and sister, Katelyn Karekos ’16 also Clarkson graduates) have remained active in the growth of the Clarkson community in the South Florida area by initiating and maintaining an Alumni Chapter covering Miami to Vero Beach with over 300+ alumni. Karekos has also served as the Council Chair of the Academic Advisory Council for the School of Arts & Sciences and has recruited several other successful alumni to serve on the council.  She is also a Legion member in Clarkson’s Good Knight Guild.

Karekos lives in Boca Raton, Florida, and co-parents with her sister a 2-year-old golden retriever named Duke.

Radley earned his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Clarkson in 2005 and was made partner at NE Controls in 2016. He now manages the software development, service, and IT departments.

Radley is part of the CU Alumni Association Board, he was co-vice president and is now co-president of the Central New York Alumni Chapter with his wife, fellow Clarkson Alumna, Jessica ’03. He is also a Legion and Loyal member in Clarkson’s Good Knight Guild.

The Radleys live in Baldwinsville, NY. In their free time they enjoy traveling to see friends and family, building LEGO and tinkering around the house.

Sturm received his Bachelor Of Science in Financial Information and Analysis from Clarkson University after leaving Clarkson after his junior year to sign a NHL Entry Level contract with the Minnesota Wild in April of 2019. Sturm currently plays for the Florida Panthers.

During his three years at Clarkson University, Nico dressed up 118 times for the Men’s Hockey team, scoring 36 goals and 67 Assists during this span. He also started serving as a team Captain alongside Devin Brosseau (‘20) during his junior year.

Nico was inducted into Clarkson University’s Beta Alpha Psi chapter in the Fall of 2017, where he was elected president during the 2018-2019 year. In the spring of 2018, he was inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma, an international honors organization for business students. The all-discipline honors society Phi Kappa Phi recognized Nicos college career in the spring of 2019. The Clarkson University Phalanx honorary society rewarded Nico for his leadership during his college career as well. Sturm is also a Loyal donor in Clarkson’s Good Knight Guild.

Sturm and his fiancée Taylor Turnquist ‘20 currently live in Fort Lauderdale, FL, for the remainder of the 2024-25 hockey season. They have made Minneapolis, MN their permanent home for the off-seasons.
