Clarkson University Professor Evgeny Katz Awarded Highest Honor by the International Association of Advanced Materials
Clarkson University Milton Kerker Chair in Colloid Science Evgeny Katz was awarded with the Advanced Materials Scientist Medal by the International Association of Advanced Materials in Stockholm, Sweden. The medal was awarded “in recognition of the long-standing contributions to materials science and technology.”
The Advanced Materials Scientist Medal awarded to Katz in the area of Biomaterials & Biodevices is the highest honor endorsed by the International Association of Advanced Materials. Katz was invited to give the Medal Lecture at the Advanced Materials World Congress in Stockholm as a part of the award. The Congress provides an international platform for promoting discussions on sustainability and innovation in advancements of materials, aligning with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals.
The medal is awarded once in a year to the most recognized scientists in the Advanced Materials area. Recent international recipients include Claudia Ostertag from the University of California, Berkeley, Hendrik Heinz from the University of Colorado Boulder, Orlando Auciello from the University of Texas at Dallas, Sandro Carrara from École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, and Marta Roldo from the University of Portsmouth.
The award recognizes scientists for their distinct contributions to materials science, engineering, and technology, and typically considers work done in the decade preceding the award. Katz is associated with the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry and Center for Advanced Materials Processing (CAMP), Clarkson University.
