Scott A. Kingsley ‘86 Joins Clarkson University Board of Trustees
Scott A. Kingsley ‘86, President and Chief Executive Officer of NBT Bancorp Inc., was named to the Clarkson University Board of Trustees on February 1. As a trustee, Kingsley will also serve on the Audit Committee.

Kingsley was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of NBT Bancorp Inc. in early 2024. He joined the Company as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in 2021.
Kingsley has more than 35 years of experience, including 16 years as a member of the management team at Community Bank System, Inc., where he served as Chief Operating Officer and, prior to that, as Chief Financial Officer.
He started his career with PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP before joining the Carlisle Companies, Inc., a publicly traded global manufacturer and distributor, where he served in financial and operational leadership roles.
Kingsley graduated from Clarkson University with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance and is a Certified Public Accountant. In 2021 he was a recipient of the Clarkson Alumni Association’s Golden Knight Award for his outstanding leadership and contributions to his profession, his community, and Clarkson University.
Kingsley is an active community advocate and volunteer, and currently serves on the Audit Committee of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Syracuse. He was previously the Chair of the Board of Directors of the Food Bank of Central New York and an 18-year board member of the Crouse Health Foundation. Kingsley has volunteered and raised funds for Paige’s Butterfly Run and OnMyTeam16, two central New York-based pediatric cancer support organizations, and is currently training and fundraising for the 2025 Boston Marathon as part of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute team.
Kingsley and his wife Doreen live in Manlius, NY and have four children and one grandchild.
