Marielle Shaw Named Honorary Alumna of Clarkson University
Clarkson University has recognized Marielle Shaw with its Honorary Alumna Award, an honor bestowed upon non-alumni who have demonstrated exceptional service and commitment to the University and its Alumni Association.

A fourth-generation legacy, Shaw follows in the footsteps of her father, Timothy Shaw; grandfather, Ronald Shaw; and great-grandfather—all proud members of the Clarkson community.
While at Clarkson, Shaw immersed herself in campus life, playing on the women’s rugby team, participating in Outing Club adventures, and working in the Office of Student Life. Her time at the University was marked by a deep engagement with the Clarkson experience.
Unfortunately, Shaw’s academic journey was interrupted by a serious illness. As her health declined, she was eventually saved by a life-changing liver transplant. Now recovering at her home in Clermont, Florida, Shaw reflects on the impact Clarkson has had on her life.
“I’m uncertain about what the future holds,” Shaw said, “but the knowledge and experiences I gained at Clarkson University give me a strong foundation. I will recover, I will heal, and I will make use of everything I learned there. Clarkson will always hold a special place in my heart. Now, it’s my turn to share the stories and help build the fifth generation.”
Clarkson University welcomes Marielle Shaw into its alumni family and celebrates her resilience, spirit, and unwavering connection to the Golden Knight tradition.
