The ISES Diversity Committee chose Rawat from a highly competitive group of applicants. His award will cover the conference registration and student membership.

Rawat has been chosen to deliver an oral presentation on his research titled "Measuring the Presence of the Infectious Flu Virus (Influenza A) in the Air Preceding and Following a Resuspension Event." This is the first experimental study that has quantified the resuspension, or “kicking up”, of virus particles from the floor into the air from normal human activity in a room.
