How to Apply
Complete the Graduate School Online Application Form.
To fully complete your application, submit the following materials:
- All undergraduate transcripts.
- Résumé or CV (Curriculum Vitae).
- A 250-500 word personal statement telling us why you want to attend Clarkson University and why you think you are a good fit for your program of interest.
- The contact information for two or three current or former faculty members or supervisors, who can send us a recommendation letter on your academic and/or professional performance and motivation. Please note that select programs require only two letters; most require three letters.
- GMAT/GRE test scores. For information and instructions related to waivers, please visit the page for your intended program of study.
- GRE® Institution Code is 2084.
- English proficiency test scores, if applicable. Accepted tests with minimum acceptable scores are: TOEFL (80) and TOEFL Essentials (8.5), IELTS (6.5), PTE (56) or Duolingo English Test (115).
- TOEFL® Institution Code is 2084.
- To support prospective graduate students, we are waiving application fees at this time.
Along with all requirements listed above, review any program-specific prerequisites before submitting your application.
Once your completed application is submitted, you will receive email communications regarding the status of your application.

Additional information for international applicants:
- If you are not a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, you are likely going to need a student visa. For more information, please visit the International Center for more information.
- To obtain an I-20, you will need to show proof of financial support. Two documents are needed:
- Complete and return the Certificate of Finance form through your admission portal.
- Provide updated bank statements showing sufficient funds, which can include a certified letter from your sponsor(s) indicating the amount of support available for each year.
